Stunning Fens flower parade returns after 10 year absence

The floats, stalls and classic cars returned in overwhelming numbers to ensure a successful return – after a 10 year absence – of one of the greatest spectacles of the Fens.

Spalding Flower Parade on Saturday was a year in the making but was a triumph of organisation, colour, and community enterprise.

Main organiser Stephen Timewell was widely praised by many for “putting Spalding back on the map”.

It was Stephen who announced in April that all spaces for craft stall, the parade and classic cars were fully booked.

The 2023 return was financed by volunteers who raised nearly £80,000
