Cambridge shoplifter back in jail just a week after his release

A shoplifter was sent back to prison – just a week after being released.

Marcus Sapra was released from prison on 8 November after serving 12 weeks for shoplifting offences in Cambridge.

Upon his release he attempted to steal chicken wings from Co-op in Milton Road on Thursday and stole alcohol from Tesco in Cherry Hinton on Saturday.

PC Jess Freeman from the Cambridge Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Sapra is a prolific shoplifter causing misery to businesses across the city.”

Sapra, 35, of St Bedes Crescent, Cambridge, was arrested on Saturday (12 November) and found in possession of a knife.

At Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday (14 November) he pleaded guilty to@

1: Possession of a knife in a public place
