14 police officers who died in the line of duty honoured at special service

Relatives and loved ones of the 14 Cambridgeshire police officers who have died in the line of duty each laid a white rose and wreaths in their memory.

Chief Constable Nick Dean and Lynda Taylor, the force chaplain, spoke to those who gathered to pay their respects and bugler PC James Good sounded the Last Post and Reveille around a minute’s silence.

“They all paid the ultimate price serving the people of Cambridgeshire and today they were fittingly remembered in a poignant service,” said a force spokesperson.

“The annual service took place under leaden skies in the memorial garden at the force headquarters this afternoon.

“It also commemorated Special constables, PCSOs and staff who have died in service.”
