The event takes place on 16th November between 14.30 – 16.30pm.

Rose Lodge general manager Meg Jones said: “We are all looking forward to welcoming our local community friends to Deena’s event.

“The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more support we can provide to each other, the better.

“Deena really is a fountain of knowledge and a true expert in dementia care.”

Meg added; “It really is an event not to be missed and we feel very lucky to welcome her at Rose Lodge.”

Rose Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare and provides nursing care and dementia care for those requiring long term care and respite stays – which can even be booked a year in advance.

Guests will have the chance to meet others supporting those living with dementia whilst also being able to learn more from Deena Heaney, MBE, and have care related questions answered.

Deena says her “whole motivation is to make a difference and to promote positive effective communication between staff and residents”.

She says to provide the best care, you need to “understand the uniqueness of each individual.”

She has spent nearly 40 years working in the care sector; her passion for dementia care started early on when she found there was a lack of knowledge on the subject.

Ms Heaney joined Barchester Healthcare in 2015.

She has spoken regularly of passionate about supporting the friends and family of those people living with dementia for whom the experience can be an incredibly difficult journey.
