Body pulled from Jesus Lock, Cambridge, after 84-year-old man reported missing
The death is not being treated as suspicious
Police searching for a missing 84 -year- old man in Cambridge have discovered a body. The body was discovered at Jesus Lock, on the River Cam, in Cambridge, at about 11.30am today (6 May).
Robin Haines was reported missing to police on Friday night after he failed to return to his home in Little Shelford.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but Mr Haines’ family have been informed and they have expressed their gratitude for the support from people on social media.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the case will be passed to the coroner.
Man, 84, fails to return home after mobility scooter trip into Cambridge
Mr Haines used his mobility scooter to travel into Cambridge but failed to return.
Police launched an appeal for public’s help when Mr Haines failed to return to his home in Little Shelford.
Detective Inspector Mark Little said the last confirmed sighting of Mr Haines was on CCTV footage near to a café in Trinity Street just before 11am on Friday.
